ROCKLAND POOL AND GOLF COURSE WEAPON MELEE

Dozens of state and local police cars responded a large fight at Rockland Lake on Saturday afternoon.

Eyewitness state that multiple fights broke out during the hot summer afternoon at the front entrance of the public poolhouse on the state park property.

A weapon, alleged to be a machete, was reported to be at scene. Police immediately responded and NYS Emergency Incidents reported one arrest made during early police response. A foot pursuit into the Rockland County Golf Course commenced after suspects fled the scene.

State Police blocked entrance to the park and detained a number of individuals in connection with the incident. Police did not release any more information on arrests. Authorities finished park investigation just before the 7 p.m. closing of public pool house hour.
