Sen. David Carlucci calls on Gov. Cuomo to increase $26.8B NYS 2018 Education Budget

Senator David Carlucci is calling on the Governor to find more funding for education in the 2018-2019 budget.

Gov. Cuomo is proposing $26.4 billion go towards education, but Sen. Carlucci and education advocates are saying it’s not enough.

Our public schools are the lifeblood of our community and our investment in education is an investment in our future. I applaud the Board of Regents and agree with their push for an increase of $1.6 billion in foundation aid to ensure that our schools have the financial resources they need to succeed. Together we can give our children the public education system they deserve,” said Sen. Carlucci.

Lawmakers must come to an agreement on the 2018-2019 budget by April 1st.
