Nyack Hospital Welcomes New Medical Director of The Wound Care Center

Seby Jacob, M.D. to head wound care at Nyack Hospital

Nyack, N.Y.– Seby Jacob, M.D, has been appointed medical director of The Wound Care Center at Nyack Hospital.  In this role, she will lead a team of wound care specialists in offering leading-edge treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics, to treat chronic and non-healing wounds.

“Wound care is incredibly complex and wound prevalence will continue to rise as the population ages and the prevalence of chronic diseases like diabetes continues to increase said Dr. Jacob. The repercussions of not treating unhealed wounds can be serious and potentially devastating and, in some cases, can result in amputation. Our multi-disciplinary team of experts assesses each patient individually and uses specialized techniques, including our new hyperbaric oxygen chambers to strive to heal the most difficult wounds.”

Prior to joining The Wound Care Center, Dr. Jacob worked at The Advanced Wound Care Center in Milford, Connecticut where she provided specialized in wound care and supervised hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

Dr. Jacob received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY and a Clinical Pathology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
