PIERMONT MAYOR DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY TODAY DUE TO POWER OUTAGES AND DOWNED TREES

Village of Piermont, New York

From the desk of Mayor Bruce Tucker,

After meeting with the Police Chief, Fire Chief, and head of the DPW, Mayor Tucker is declaring a State of Emergency in the Village of Piermont, NY, effective noon today for 24 hours. This is due to the extensive flooding in many downtown areas, roads closed, and fallen trees. The winds are expected to intensify this afternoon and evening, increasing the possibility of power outages, as well as a full moon high tide at 10:30 PM tonight that will most surely flood our low lying areas. Only Emergency personnel will be allowed to drive in the Village! Please stay in your homes. If you need assistance, call 911. Please move all cars from low lying areas. Sandbags are available at the DPW building.
